I detect a lot of defensive guilt from some of the "pro tat" people that comes through in their posts. I would imagine many of them are thinking..."what the hell did I do that for" after they've made the mistake of getting one.

They could be covered from collarbone to toe and I wouldn't care one bit. It's when it gets on the neck/face that makes me question them.

^This, plus hand tats.

ETA: This is one of the more humorous ones that I've seen, she was watching me the entire time during professional development.

A half sleeve for that? It must be a shitty tattoo.

I was thinking the same thing

Not bragging. Simply stating that all tattooed people are not the same. We come in many different shape, sizes and socioeconomic statuses.

A good portion of you are, however. Falling into the categorie of either a nonconformist with an agenda or just being plain stupid

Well they are the same in one respect and it's not positive!

Tattoos went mainstream in the early-mid 90's. That is basically now a full generation ago. When do we get to cycle back to them not being cool anymore?

Getting tatted up so you can be 'edgy' doesn't work when everyone else is doing the same thing.

Damn, I hate to agree with Scrub!

Someone with tats doesnt give a rats ash about what i think of them. So it shouldnt hurt their feelings that i think they are trashy and enormously stupid

So all people who have multiple tattoos do not have the ability to be professional. How old are you exactly? Because thats some narrow-minded thinking.

Try for a residency at a hospital or try going into some courtrooms. My supervisor has her fair share of tats, and some courts will not let her in to argue a case unless she has a sweater or blazer covering them up.

It's not small minded thinking. It's just the way things are, and yes, there is a certain class the seem to immerse themselves in tats. When you are looking for jobs those tats frequently just don't make a good impression.

To some degree this is true....but I have an amazing amount of respect for people who are different than me. I would prefer you not think I am trash but I wouldn't waste time begging for approval either. The world is better because of our differences not in spite of them. I bet you are salt of the earth...just not the same as me.

Particularly on the West Coast. I swear, multiple tats, piercings and flat bill caps are the norm. You're weird if you don't have some kind of body art.
