The way this would go if you were an alcoholic is that you'd swear off drinking for a night or two, and then get completely blackout drunk that third night to make up for the fact that you skipped out a couple of nights. And probably drive home that way.

ETA: Who am I kidding? You'd swear if off for an hour tops.
