It's been 10 plus years since I was in the game but the days of AOL before texting made it easy to attract crazy bitches. I'd say 80% were hookups on the first meeting maybe 1 of the 10 wanted to take it slow. It was basically tinder via instant messaging.

I worked with a guy who didn't come back to the rig for 48 hours because he was fricking a chick he met on Christian mingle.

I don't do Tinder and don't post updates to Facebook anyway, so it's a non issue for me, but I was thinking more along the lines of at least somewhat protecting your anonymity.
