Also if you have 2 (or more) kids Disney is way fricking expensive and a lot of families can't afford it.
Hell yeah it is.

Wwwaaaayyy too much for HS given how much is closed right now. Also half day for MK? Plus AK is gonna take more time soon with the Avatar area opening.
I'll give you points for all of these. Our short day was at HS, did dinner and drinks outside the park that night. Didn't think about Avatar area coming soon. I could see spending a whole day there after it opens.
I would challenge you on MK though. We got in early with breakfast at Belles castle, did mine train before breakfast (the only way if you don't want to wait in line and can't get fast passes). Hit Space, BTMR, haunted mansion, splash, hell even rode the people mover cause I was recovering from the night before
But yeah, you could easily spend a whole day if you have kids in tow.

Luxury=\=expensive
A fricking H1 Hummer is a $100k. It's not a lux vehicle.

Disney, the new Osteria Francescana
They have some really good food there if you haven't been in a while. Victoria and Albert's for one but Disney also has some of the best pastry chef's in the world. Of course you can go there and eat chicken fingers and cold burgers for every meal but there are options to eat really well.

Have you ever been to Victoria and Alberts at the Chef's Table? Yep, world class cuisine in every sense of the word.

No, but I've been to Eleven Park and Robuchon and I can assume you Disney doesn't touch them. I take adult vacations....

He's the one who brought up "luxury." I just said some poors here bitch about Disney because it is too expensive to drag their whole family over there and buy them all the overpriced crap sold in the park.
An adult trip is actually super cheap, since you don't have to buy overpriced plastic crap. Apparently that hasn't occurred to OP though.

I just think it's funny you start a thread and complain how expensive Disney is and are now insisting that isn't expensive or "luxury."
Well it's certainly not a luxury vacation. You can make it expensive but it isn't something you should ever expect to make the Forbes list of luxury vacations. That's not a bad thing. It doesn't have to be a luxury vacation to be fun. It's just the truth.
And if what you got from my original post was that I thought it was too expensive of a vacation spot, then it looks like we got our wires crossed. It's expensive in the sense that for similar money, you can enjoy some other fairly nice places while not being surrounded by people wearing cartoon costumes. It's expensive for what you're getting.

New York and Vegas? Is this amateur hour on the OT?

And what do you call "adult" vacations? It is safe to assume you have never been and are speaking without any personal knowledge of what you speak. But please, go on sounding like a vapid pompous arse. I'm sure that is entertaining to a certain sector of our audience.

You can say this all you want but it's just not true.

So, you have never been but talk about how bad it is? Never change OT...

As opposed to fricking Orlando? Yes.
The Keys are the only thing in Florida that aren't total shite.

I wouldn't call Disney a luxury vacation per se. But I think the theme here with most of us who go often is that we keep talking about the variety and that's true here as well. The grand floridian villas + victoria and albert's + the golf + private tours + boat rentals = something pretty close to what you'd experience at a high end resort anywhere else in the state.
I agree. Our last two trips we stayed at the Boardwalk and Wilderness. The first time we stayed at the All Star Movies Resort (at roughly 90 a night)... and the best thing is the free bussing to each part, etc. These people complaining are probably the same that want everything for free...

Have you ever tried to buy "race photos" at other big events? $120 for that and all of your other pictures throughout your trip is one of the best purchases you can make there.
Truth in every sense of the word.

Very subjective and speculative. You admit to not having been since you were a child, "I went a couple times as a child and had a lot of fun. But I was a child.", so you have absolutely no first hand knowledge of the subject matter. It is very easy to understand why you don't "get it" having never been to experience it.

Except those other places don't have some of the same stuff Disney has. Take Rome for instance, I am glad I can say I have seen the sights of Rome, overall frick that city.
I would rather be surrounded by cartoon characters than deal with that shithole. Not to take away from certain attractions of course, but I will take the super-clean super-organized Disney over crowds of gypsies.

Paris is a goddamn train wreck, but I'd take it over a theme park all day.

I mean, if you're gonna nose dive into the thread talking shite you have to bring more to the table than 2 restaurants in New York and Vegas.
