How these frickers stay in business is beyond me ?
There is a burger king close to my office and it seems like a dozen employees eat there several times a week. Every one of them is either very large or skinny fat.

They follow their competitors to an area. If McDonalds gets the best corner, Burger King will get the cheapest plot nearby.
They put up less investment in their location, employees, and products.

Captain D's or Long John Silvers. Checker's and Rally's is almost up there, mainly because I downvote any fast food place that doesn't have a bathroom. (I'm giving Sonic a waiver on this one)
I like a good blizzard, but Dairy Queen is pretty trashy. Whataburger too.

Funny bc revenue, same store growth sales, stock price, average unit volume etc has all grown since Burger King was bought out by RBI/3G capital. They are doing something right. Maybe it hasnt reached south LA yet.
There is a reason Popeyes stock prices soared after the acquisition, too. Smart people are now in charge.
CEO is Daniel Schwartz is only 35, came in at #9 on Forbes 40 under 40.
quote:
Schwartz was a partner in the New York office of private equity firm 3G Capital when it took over a majority share of Burger King in 2010 and installed him as EVP and deputy CFO. He became CEO in mid-2013; a little over a year later, Burger King bought Canadian coffee-and-donut shop Tim Hortons to create Restaurant Brands International, and suddenly Schwartz was in charge of the world’s third largest fast-food company. From the company’s headquarters in Oakville, Ontario and Miami, the young CEO has brought the 3G mindset of extreme cost-cutting measures to both brands—a strategy that pushed Burger King’s pre-tax earnings up 11.5% last year and turned around once-flagging sales, bucking overall trends in fast food.
