I've googled and found mostly 3+ year old articles.
What's the % and the cap? I'm sure some of you baws have cruised recently.

Still the same, or worse.

I honestly don't remember, but I do remember that it is worse than any given riverboat casino.

Usually 10% rake up to $7.
They often run tournaments once per day. Cheap, usually around $100.
You load typically $200 max for a .50/1.00 or 1.00/2.00 game. Low stakes but enjoy the fishies

I don't know personally, but unless it is a cruise specifically marketed to regular players you can expect two things:
1) The rake will be enormous compared against casinos.
2) OTOH, the players will suck.
If that were all there is to it, a skilled player should still do fine. That said, probably they will have a structure where the blinds climb quickly as well, because raw beginners aren't usually interested in sitting down to a game that may last all day. And that kills it.

But does it really matter? You're on a Carnival cruise ship, I don't know that the rake should be a big determining factor to just throwing down a couple hundred bucks and having a little fun.

And that is the difference between someone who wants to win and someone who wants to be entertained.

Cruises are trashy

I got a reply from a Carnival Casino supervisor, and it's 15% capped at $10.
This seems crazy high. I'm used to playing $1-3 NL at harrahs where it's 10% capped at $7 (5 for rake and 2 for jackpot).
Unless people donk off stacks in like 20 hands, would that rake even be beatable for a good player?
