the most notable or "best" is 'The Stranger Beside Me' by Ann Rule, but the problem is that doesn't interest me at all. It appears that's told from her personal perspective of knowing him
While Rule did know him briefly, Rule is an excellent journalist in her own right. She treats the subject of Bundy just as any criminal journalist might--she just happens to have some personal insight into him, which actually adds a little more depth to the book, imo.
Go with The Stranger Beside Me. Great book.

Interesting. I just assumed the whole book would be told from her point of view, telling tales of her interactions with him.

I personally had trouble putting the book down. I found it that interesting of a read.

I remember watching that famous interview with him days before he was about to be executed. This was when he was trying to blame pornography for his actions and was playing the born again Christian card in hope of getting off death row.
At one point in the interview when asked about his thoughts on his victims...for one second...he took his "mask" off and gave this look with his eyes that was just pure evil.

Just the facts.
When I lived in Tacoma, WA in 1972, a chick was ... well, they found her savagely violated body in a ravine behind the apartment I lived in. I told the cops all I knew: nothing. And so far as I know, they never found the killer. Bundy was living in that part of town then.
Anyway ... Conversations with a Killer. And, if you haven't already, check out the interview with Bundy a day or two before his execution. It's on youtube. Gives you some insight into the mind of a sadistic, homicidal psychopath--that's always good knowledge to have.

Rule gives a pretty interesting account of Bundy's last days in prison and his desperate attempts to gain control over his situation by dangling pieces of information about his victims. Apparently authorities were so determined to kill the SOB that they just said screw it rather than hold out for information to close out their cases and be toyed with by Bundy.
Also, it's interesting that had Bundy somehow cleaned up his act in Tallahassee, he might've gotten away with all of those murders.
