the best part of the job was after completing a shift, before he left the cockpit, he had completed whatever paperwork he had to do and there was nothing more to do until he flew again.

Excellent point. Unless you’re chasing $$s and looking for extra flying, you can leave work at work.

BHtiger posted on here a few years back where he hit a flock of geese while landing in Florida I think and badly damaged the front of his plane. Maybe he can link the post??
Not a flock of geese nor Florida. It was a single turkey buzzard in Charlotte.

This is a pilot. The guy that got this thing back to the airport and on the ground.

Aloha Airlines Flight 243

777 is close to 90yo

Do they even let 90yo fly?

I’ve unashamedly flew 1k hours in Microsoft flight sim, does that count?

If that doesn’t make you want to suck me off, ask me how to fly an ILS approach in 0 visibility.

Diamond flyer with Detla. Would be cool if the Pilot or copilot would give heads ups when flying over a national land mark.

I hear it involves a lot of child support and a drinking problem.

I know a guy that flies for JetBlue. He said it's very relaxed and chill for the most part.

It’s really only chaotic at that split second before you crash into the mountain.

My uncle was a captain for an airline. Said it was the best part time job he ever had.

Also, it's hours and hours of boredom and a few moments of stark terror.

Also was told in an emergency you only needed to pay attention to the shiney switches since those are the only ones used regularly.

Grew up in an aviation family.

I was on a flight from Denver to Dallas a few years back when the pilot got on the intercom and said “Those of you on the left side of the aircraft can look out and see the Oklahoma panhandle.”
Funny how many leaned over to look.
