Definitely wasn't his dads place. Original Mestizo's was on Sherwood before he moved to Acadian. Dad is Carlos. He had a place in front of Circle bowl, but I don't think it's open anymore. It was called Carlos's.

If I see Jim around tomorrow I'll ask what happened this evening. Never knew his dad was also in the restaurant business
