Was pulled over in very heavy traffic in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.

State trooper was going opposite direction at a 3 way stop and pulled around in intersection to stop me.

I had a single 1X4 sticking out of my bed. Apparently in Georgia if anything extends 2’ then it had to be flagged. Mine was 14”. Really the only time I’ve been stopped and he was up to no good.

Got threatened by some Marshalls at a LSU game over not moving from our tailgate spot when he told us to. This happened about 2010 or so out by the softball field. We parked and were about to set our tents out and fat boy rolled up and told us we couldn't tailgate and park there. There were other fans literally 40 feet away on each side. He said if he came back and we were not moved he was going to tow us and have us arrested. A hour later he shows back up and parks about 50 yards away just watching us. 10 minutes here comes several units. They park and walk over. Black guy obviously the boss asked me why we didn't move when the marshall told us to. We proceeded to tell him that we were in a legal spot and had been tailgating there for several years. He then claimed that LSU didn't want us tailgating there. I asked him if that was the case then why wasn't it roped off? Why were there others on both sides of us? He said well if a officer ask you to do something you do it. I told him, that is bullshite when it is a unlawful order I then pulled out a LSU parking map and showed him that we were with the rights of tailgating there and I didn't appreciate being threathened with being towed and arrested. The boss asked me who told you that? I told him big boy standing over, then the marshall told his boss that he did tell us that. While all of this is happening one of the other cops a dude is swat pants and a polo is standing to the back just shaking his head. The boss then says ( obviously covering up for fat boy ) well next time a officer ask you to do something, to do it. We going to let you stay here today but don't be in this spot next week. They then walked off and boss talked to fat boy for awhile and they left. This all happened very early in the morning like 7:30 before a night game. We tailgated in that same spot for the next 3 years and never saw any of them cops ever again.

Funny addition to the story about a hour after this happened Jerry Stovall walked past our tent and we struck up a conversation. We related the story to him and we got a shocking response we never expected. He told us we should have punched the cop in the throat. I said yeah you are Jerry Stovall but me they would put me under the jail. I guess Ole Jerry who I had always heard was this nice Christian man also had a bit of mean streak in him.

What I think really happened here was that fat boy was saving that spot for his friends.

They drove me 3 miles to police station and let me out the car in the parking lot. I asked, "now what?" They said you are free to walk home
What would you do if a random person attempted to do this to you?
