It’s all relative.

How many "removed" is it OK?

Asking for a friend

Removed means that it's a different generation. Your friend would be more interested in how low of a number is social acceptable.

Looks like 2nd cousins have an inbreeding coefficient marginally higher than the general population.

Because they were second cousins? What’s wrong with them being together?

That’s still a little too close for comfort, but maybe that’s because I know many of my second cousins. Also easier to say that because they’re all dudes. I might be from Alabama but I’m not a fig.

5th cousins share roughly .1% of DNA

3rd cousins share 0.8% DNA. I still wouldn't sleep with them. Think about this...that would be your grandparents 1st cousins grandchild.

Really doesn’t matter at that point. Go back far enough and we’re all related.
It’s legal in all 50 states for 2nd cousins to marry. It’s not that big a deal for two people (a man and a woman) who love each other and want to start a family together.

You would be surprised to know that there quite a few people married to their 5th/6th/7th, etc cousins and don't even know it. Especially if you come from a big family.

My parents were 4th or 5th cousins. His great grandparent and her great grandparent were siblings or something like that. I used to know exactly but I'd have to go look it up now.

"They had a kid"

They had 3 kids. One of the lil boys had 6 toes on his right foot and the other one 6 toes on one foot and 6 fingers on his right hand.
The lil girl has goldfish eyes and a mullet mouth.

Would you want your kid dating your first cousins kid?
