watching Tulsa King and Stallone's character went to prison for 25 years

It got me laughing thinking about what someone who went away in 1995 would think of the world in 2020. They might want to go back into prison

I imagine it would be easier to just 'start a new life' back in the day (1920s?) but between the modern communication style, automation, and lack of job prospects, would there be a worse time to go in and out of prison than modern times?

ETA: Not to mention the buttfrickings that would occur in prison would be bad at any time

Her beau was a bootlegger during prohibition, justice was served and he was killed by an angry husband after he drove over the man's poor wife. I imagine it would be horrifying had he lived.

Well, I’ve heard Rome during the reign of Nero was pretty rough. Prisoners were tarred and feathered and set on fire as human candles to light up the circus Maximus. Or at least that’s what my tour guide in Italy said.

Early nineteenth century England. You could wind up transported in irons half-way round the earth to Australia, a five month nightmarish sea voyage. Then, once there you got worked to death or, if lucky escaped into the bush or Outback to die.

this is very true

A man came to the library I was working at once. He needed to fill out a job application on the computer - he was very frustrated with it bc he had gone to jail in the early 1990s and had just gotten out (this was about 2012ish). So we had to set up an email then fill out the job application. He was like ‘this is some shite just to be a dishwasher’

I have a client in there right now. He says the trick is: kick someone's arse the first day, or become someone's bitch. Then everything will be all right.

To your point of being locked up during current events and the like, it would be shitty to live through WWII in the US then get locked up for 25 years after victory. Then to get let out in the middle of Vietnam war.

Thats why you have aid the warden in money laundering and make sure he takes the rap, while you take the funds and head on down to zihuatanejo to live out your simple life on the beach.

I mean, we have adults fighting fascism on the streets of Portland and other adults who need safe spaces on college campuses. So don’t tell me now that it’s easy out there.

Conjugal visits? Mmmm. Not that I know of. Y'know, minimum-security prison is no picnic.

Was that before non-consensual jail butt fricking became a thing, because I'd choose then. I don't think I'd like the butt fricking thing all that much.
