On right is what you can get from a typical white light filter and what you can expect to see. The most interesting thing of note is that the black are actual sunspots

On left, is the same settings with the same type of camera modified to remove the internal infrared filter, and equipped with an alpha hydrogen filter.

A lot of serious astrophotographers do this and have a separate camera just for space shots. You can do a lot of fun stuff with long exposure shots of galaxies and nebula if you have the right spectral filters. It's all incredibly expensive, and devoting a $1500 camera to the sole cause of space photography is only the start.
