My Mom bought me one of these cheapies at a Pawn Shop and it was OVER!

Yeah, but a 15-16-17 year old kid wouldn't properly appreciate something like that.

One of the first things I did after getting the guitar was take it apart and paint it with the help of a friend (who later became a bandmate).

There was no greater joy in the world for a teenage kid than "Frakenstein-ing" guitars!

A cool Danelectro would have been "fixed" beyond recognition.
