We define suit differently.

My preferred style is Keith Richards' casual. Your style is your style. Trashy was harsh but it does redefine suit in the business world.

I've been to a lot of rehearsal dinners and never worn a suit.

Might pop a blazer on with some slacks.

Nothing looks better that a black shirt with a red tie, or vice versa. As an added bonus, you'll fit right in if you feel the urge to help the waitstaff serve the food.
