Other than fishing, hunting, recreation, food, and Tech athletic events it is a very uneventful place.

What else does a person want?

Go see a movie, bowling, fish, hunt, shop, eat, play putt putt in West Monroe, museums, plays, live music, heck or sit on the porch and enjoy not hearing sirens or 18-wheelers every 5 minutes.
Ruston is by no means a large city but it offers enough to keep you busy if you know where to look, along with peace and quiet that sounds nicer the older I get.

Honestly I would eat at most of those but not call them good- more like average, if you're from a town with a decent restaurant scene

Newks is much better than Mcallister's imo

Lake Claiborne is close by and a great recreational lake. The water is probably the cleanest of any in the state. Lake D'arbonne is really close and it's a great fishing/ duck hunting lake. Jackson-Bienville near by has some great public hunting land. D'arbonne NWR duck hunting is pretty good too.

We've got a camp on Lake Claiborne and my son and his friends still come up from BR a lot in the summer. They like it a lot better than the water recreation areas around BR.

My favorite restaurants are Log Cabin and LaFogata Tex mex in Arcadia. Molcajete is really good and will easily feed 2.

DIXIE theater has several plays throughout the year and Ruston has a fairly new 8 theater Cinema too.

Ruston isn't nearly as cultured as it should be, for a college town, but it is a pretty nice town to raise a family.

Paige. It was el pollino Mexican restaurant and it was pretty dang good.
