You have to read the book to appreciate just how horrible it is written
And some of the scenes...not erotic at all. One scene the writer goes into detail about Christian pulling out Ana's tampon and then having sex with her Another describes Ana's first experience at giving oral sex. Writer has her describing his penis as her "own Christian Grey flavored popsicle"

Sounds like it was written by a teenager.

Gf of mine is obsessed with book. She was going to see it with some other friends and invited me. I hadn't spent a lot of time with her recently so saw it as an opportunity to get to hang out with her, otherwise I would have not chosen to go see this movie in the theater. I've only read the first book because I wanted to read book before seeing movie. I'm currently trudging through second book because I do want to know what happens to the characters. But I'm finding it difficult to read the book. Finding myself skimming through the sex scenes now. Can only read "and then he cupped my sex...holy cow!" so many times. I feel like I've lost brain cells reading this book and need to redeem myself as a proclaimed bookworm by reading some classic literature after I finish this.
Please don't tell me you are taking up for these books.

And I didn't know that the book was so poorly written, but I have now heard that a few times.
I picked it up from the bedside table and read about a page of it back when my wife and all her friends were reading it. It was simply unreadable - Dave Berry has a lot of grit to make it through the whole book. Really, Really, Really bad writing.

oh god no
just find it odd to commit so much time to something that you think is so horrible

Well I'm a fast reader so it's not that time consuming really. And I'm not one to ever start a book series and NOT finish it...no matter how horrible. I will make myself finish it just so I know what happened.

Get better at sex so she doesn't have to be fulfilled by books?

We are showing our nerdiness aren't we?

So what happens in the last two books? I won't ever be seeing the movies unless I run out of spankbank material or don't have an Internet connection and that's all that's around.

I'm only in second book. Christian woos her back to him. They have more sex, not as much in Red Room of Pain though(at least not yet...I'm only like 30% in book based on what kindle tells me). Goes more into why he's so fricked up in the head and shows us the older woman that molested him when he was 15 and made him into the person he is.

Tell your "cousin' to take his wife on a weekend get away. Take her out dancing, get shite faced drunk and have drunk sex for 2 days. It's more than the books that has changed her.
