Had a friend in HS managed a store, he would hand out chocolate to the kids, of course it was ex-lax.....

4 mule team and wagon picked us up at da bayou bank in da 50s. Bikes were rare.
Momma made da treats. Popcorn balls, fudge, pralines.

Yep, there was a place in Metry on Causeway called Food Way, it's Waloo's now, they sold beer to anyone.. Sophomore year, 15 years old, throw an 8 pack on the counter, guy rings me up like I'm 30.... Good times
