I know in the AF we have guard and reserve guys do 1+ tours that are not even considered deployments.
Sometimes they are lucky to bring their family along.

I did it cause I needed a better opportunity and had a baby on the way...plus I wanted to do something worthwhile that I and my family could be proud of...i have tons of military in my family...I love my country...so it was good fit...

I was 9 years active and have been in the reserves for 2...I'll take the reserves any day of the week and twice on sundays...

hey man...if i could i would... but we still do random pee tests almost every drill weekend...
reserves is the shite...i did my time on a hot arse flight deck in the persian gulf for 16 hours a day during OIF..im good with doing a 2 week AT every year and drill once a month...EVERY month...and i may actually get to go back to sea...when I am ready...
