What it looks like when an 18 wheeler goes through a herd of cows (pics) (kind of graphic)

Found these pics in my imgur. I worked at one of the LSU research stations for my first 5 years of college. Somebody left one of the gates open on highway 30 and an 18 wheeler went through the cows. If I remember right it killed around 20.

That ear tag count they talk about....guess who got to be the guy who went and cut all the tags off? I remember a cow where it's spine looked like it was where it's belly had been. I couldn't figure out how it had twisted up that way. Most of them didn't seem to have any structure left when lifting them with the front end loader. The 18 wheeler pretty much pulverized their bones.
Of course they wouldn't admit to it but the rumor was that the st gabriel police department had gone to their shooting range and left the gate open when they left.
these pictures were after we drug them off of the road

That ground beef is worse than Taco Bell’s.

I remember driving up on that one morning a few years ago. Was supposed to drive to Nola and used 30 as my shortcut....remember seeing some carcasses off the side in a ditch.

you must have passed soon after it happened. we got the cows off the road as quickly as possible because of the whole PR thing. 30 stayed closed that long because the truck started leaking chemicals.

Back in spring of of 89 or 90, I was cutting over on a back road from Hwy 19 to Plank Road in Baker, just wouth of Brown Heights. Near where Dyer turns off Plank. It was about 2:30 a.m., as I came to a stop where the street met Plank Rd, and I was the first one on the scene where a Hyundai Excel (the first model, that slow arse p.o.s. turd) had smacked a humongous cow perfectly broadside. One of the worst things I've ever personally seen. Cow wasn't all that messed up, but the car was demolished. Two chicks were in it, and one was hurt.

There’s no bull in this story.

Anyone ever see the result of an 18 wheeler hitting a camel? A lot worse than this.

Yesterday. Car ran off of road and went through fence twice. Luckily the rancher was able to move cows into another secure pasture before any got out on the 65 mph 4 lane highway.

Submitted for your amusement.
Once upon a time i was married to a moron and we were first responders on the fire dept. We get a call late one night that a car has hit a cow and that cows are on the loose on the road (a fence broke)
My moron hops in the FD rescue unit, rushes to the scene ... and hits a cow in the road with the rescue unit.
What part of "cows are loose on the road" did he not understand?
Cow was pissed but walked it off, rescue unit was towed and the moron never lived that one down.

Was any of the meat from the other one still fit to eat? Sounds like a potential Steak Night at the fire station.....

Was going to have chicken enchiladas but I’m going to go with beef. Appreciate you helping me make up my mind.
