You should stack up ahead of time next year.

I like decorating the tree with my kids. Every year, we get a 6-7' Fraser fir and let the kids hang the ornaments after I put the lights on it. Pretty cool just joking around the whole night.

Also, after the gifts are wrapped and under the tree, watching the kids find their's and seeing who has the most

There are always threads about people not liking the holidays, etc, but what about the other side of it.. What do you like about the holidays?
What are "the holidays" you and others constantly speak of? I get wished "happy holidays" all the time - on TV, while out shopping, on social media, in the mail - but nobody seems to want to be more specific. Like... what do these holidays celebrate and why should I be happy? Like... is there a designated date upon which these holidays' special day falls, and any celebration of it/them? Or is it multiple and vague deliberately?

Please somebody, help solve this mystery, so I can get into knowing why we do what we do, like the rest of you.

Best thing is clearly the paid holiday time off work.

Behind that, the booze and football games.

For some reason the wife finds it acceptable for me to drink every night during the holidays. It's great.

Spending time with my stepmom and sister. I enjoy watching my mom unwrap gifts and hear her laughter.

This Christmas will be a challenge since my brother died in January and my father died just two years ago. Mom still decorated the living room with a tree full of ornaments. She even put up her traditional Christmas Village. Gifts are not everything. Being with her on Sunday will be a blessing.

I love the Christmas music and going to do Christmasy stuff like looking at lights, putting up tree, etc.

Also really love(the years I'm not working) going to Christmas Eve service at my church and singing Silent Night with everyone else at church in candlelight.
