What is the point of bogus craigslist ads for things like cars and trucks?

It's generally very obvious which ads are bogus. It'll give very little information, the price is crazy cheap for what the photo shows, and if you do want to waste some time for the hell of it and call or text the number, you don't get a response anyway.
I know that sometimes some jerk that you'd p.oed, or an ex girlfriend or wife might post an ad with a photo of your stuff for cheap, just to cause you a little aggravation, but most of these ads aren't even that.
What's the deal?

Pretty sure it's a front for drug dealers.

They say “sorry that truck was sold yesterday, are you interested in a 93 Carolla for $8000?”

So when you show up, they can knock you over the head with a sock full of pennies and take your stuff.

I had a female once that attempted to buy a 3 yr old Altima for 2500 dollars. The seller told her he was over seas studying oceanography and she could go get 2500 in green dot card and just send him pictures of the numbers on it. Of course she did this. He then emailed again pretending to be Amazon shipping and requested another $1000 for insurance on shipping the car. Of course, this young lady obliged and sent another 1000.
Upon researching where the money went, half went to a green dot account belonging to a person in Oregon, the other half went to an account of a person from Maryland. Neither of these people had any idea that their identity was used to open green dot accounts.
So yes, there are people stupid enough to do this

Emails and phone numbers to spam, Back track for personal informal and/or IP address.
Many reasons could be stated.

They want you to send them a money order or something like that as a "deposit".
