Travel volleyball brings out the worst in parents. It's so expensive there is so much stress involved.

Anyway, during tournaments, they put girls from non-playing teams on the lines to make calls. You are lucky if you get one that pays attention. I watched a grown arse man get up from his seat and yell profanities at a 14 year old girl over a missed call to the point where the girl's dad came up and beat the shite out of him.

Cops came but they ended up shaking hands and nothing else happened.

FWIW, the call was bad.

There’s really no need to be defensive. All I’m saying is to try to come up with your own schtick. Maybe try something new that nobody here has ever heard before..

Orrrrr you can just keep repeating the same shite that a thousand of retards before you were saying. Up to you I guess. I just want you to be a better poster

We had a catcher injured on a play, and the other teams 3rd base coach waved in runners to score because no one was guarding home (9U rec ball)

Winners win.

But seriously the worst part is he reinforced that shitty behavior to that whole team.

I mean your kid’s coach is a poor example. The other coach who sent kids home was teaching them the right way. Play until play is stopped and you should teach your kid’s teammates to cover home and finish the play.

Exactly. If they were properly coached they would have had a kid backing up home plate for a situation just like this…

But they were young and it was rec ball, so I’ll give them a pass

Most over top youth sports story I have is that parents are dumb enough to pay all that money for travel ball!

I witnessed a dad last weekend running his 5, 7 and 9 yo's into the ground on the soccer field and screaming at them for 2 HOURS. I partly over heard it was due to the performance of one of the kids for the day before. He even told them that was the reason he woke them up early.

He was lining them up and running them like dogs back across the field and he even chased them screaming. It was really weird.

I had a grandpa come after me following a 8 yr old coach pitch game. Later found out he was banned from Bossier High forever for attacking basketball refs..

This one's not over the top but my grandma was super embarrassed. She was a huge baseball fan and sat right behind the fence at home plate. 10 year old me was at bat and the umpire called an obvious ball a strike and his broom floped off the fence and hit the ump. Grandma was shaking the fence in anger. She gave me 10 bucks not to tell my mom about it lol

Back when I was paid to coach travel ball I set a record.

I was thrown out of the game BEFORE the game even started

Umpire grabbed one of the kids on my team and yanked him out of his way on the field. Threw him like a ragdoll (12u boys) while he was warming up.

No clue what that guy's problem was but I let him have it and I was tossed before we even flipped a coin.

The craziest thing I ever saw was at a 10 year old swim tournament, the coaches son got disqualified for some trivial technical detail after coming in 1st place. The coach got into a shouting match with the referee then proceeded to steal the first place trophy and storm out of the event. It was quite a sight to see.

I witnessed probably the worst coaching I've ever seen at a 12U travel softball tournament last weekend.

My girls team ended up playing a team of 11 year olds, with a few 10 year olds mixed in there. They were obviously tiny. The assistant coach of this team is apparently the head softball coach at Lutcher. In the top of the first inning she cried about EVERY call made. Once the score got to 8-0 in the first she turned her attention to the kids. Both of their coaches screamed and yelled the rest of the game. Not screaming at lack of effort, not loudly constructively correcting mistakes. Just yelling for the sake of yelling, zero coaching.

When they came to bat this bitch didn't even go out to coach first base. Stayed in the dug out yelling. I was sitting near our third base dug out and our teams first baseman came back after the inning visibly shook by how the coach was acting in the dug out.

After the game she proceeded to keep the kids in the dug out for damn near 30 minutes still yapping her gums. The kids from our team felt so bad that they walked behind their dug out and were cheering for them when they finally were cut loose.

Worst display of "coaching" I've ever witnessed at the youth level. And to think this lady supposedly coaches a high school team.

If that lady post here, you suck.
