I struggle with being satisfied/happy in life.
it wont make any sense but, im married.. have a great wife. Great parents, great job. We go on on good vacations and i have everything in life i could want. BUT im always asking is this what my life is for? I mean am i here to get up for work every day, work 9-10 hrs drive an hr home, feed sogs, shower, eat .. then bed and do it again the next day? Is there more to life or is this it?! I was raised playing every sport and stayed busy, i played sports 3-4 nights a week up until 2 years ago. New job is an hr away from home and its an office/ desk job "im systems administrator over a computer network at hospital" so it dont leave me alot of time for anything after work anymore. I guess im just burnt out on the routine, and wondering if there is more.

It's the journey. Not the destination. Striving for the self-determined objectives of man will lead to a feeling of emptiness in most.

Great thread SS.
I've come to realize recently that I hate my boss and he has destroyed my job satisfaction. The problem is that a few trusted friends in the industry followed me here and if I resign, I will leave them in a bad situation. I'm doing my best to manage my way into a better relationship with my boss, but sometimes I just want to do what's right for me and bail.

That changes tomorrow good sir!
But to answer your OP, biggest stress is looking after my wife and not in a running off way. Her father passed away very suddenly this past January of a heart attack at 68, all while her mom was battling colon cancer for a 2nd time and just after we had our first little one. Postpartum with anxiety followed by sudden death of one parent while possibly losing the other at the same time was extremely hard, as one could imagine. Lots of prayers and lots of crying, but she makes it through and I do my best to help when/where I can. Our daughter really has been a blessing because she is quite the little ball of light and really can turn any frown upside down. Nobody said life was easy, but damn 2014 has been a doozie. What doesnt kill you only makes you stronger, right? haha

Generally work til I get burned out, take time off and find something else. Downsize, live more simply which gives me less worries and more freedom.
Thinking about starting a seasonal guiding business again, taking winters off and working summers. It worked for me once, not sure why the hell I saw fit to do something else.

Everything. I am stressed about everything.

Stress is my baseline, I live in an anxious state. The job hunt has really made it worse and I'm sure once I have the stability and assurance of a job again my mind will ease.

i really over think things and stess way to much. I think i have a underlying generalized anxiety issue that come up from time to time because once i get something that isnt normal i really focus on it and stress over it. i dream terrible dreams even and it makes my sleep stressful

Once you accept that you are not running the show you will be able to relax more. People try to control everything...and we control nothing. Enjoy the ride.

That stress will kill you bro. Need to find a way to vent.
