The ugly as Alice divorce I'm going through. Won't get into details for security purposes but I've had to become sole parent of my step-child.
My lawyer said it's the most screwed up case he's had to date.

ETA - And my dog is constipated.

SSROUGE: Keep your head up and thanks for posting this thread. There are a bunch of folks posting here with heavy burdens. It has given them voice. It has really made a lot of us who have somewhat OK situations (at present) think about what is important, appreciate our situations and realize that huge life changes can happen in an instant.

Good luck on your dinner plans tomorrow night. Be obnoxious if you want, you're be amongst OTers. Thanks again.

Hang in there evrrybody else.

Now it's going home this weekend. I've been sober 39 days. I really hope I can keep it up. And I'm so dreading going back to work and facing everyone

Two people I know have died tragically this summer. Aging parents who are sick. Two teens that think they know everything. Many sleepless nights. I think I'll stop there.

Thanks nurse. It's about as ugly as a divorce can possibly be. So bad that my lawyer actually reduced his fees because of the situation I've been placed in.

The good news is I'll be a free man by the end of the year and I'm planning to move to Namibia to start with. I've already found a few fully furnished beach houses in Swakopmund and have started my resident visa process.

My accountant advised me to take advantage of the freedom and get out the US. First $95k tax free is a nice incentive.

ETA - Have you been riding any good Jeep trails this year?

Sorry to hear about the divorce...

for me it's financial issues, wanting to find a new job and make a move and realizing the economy still kind of sucks, and having parents that are not in the best of health but that live 2000 miles away so there's really nothing I can do.

But I'm kind of a worrier anyway, so I'm always stressed about something.

Well good luck with everything. At least you will be free to be the world traveler you are. From your posts it seems like you are happier out of the US.

I'm not really an off roading junkie Red. More so I like that my Jeep can go offroad when need be for hiking trails, camping, etc. But at least it has been christened on some trails in Sedona so I'm not THAT Jeep owner(the one that never leaves paved roads).

I'm down man. But I'm booked for the time being. I got all my shite taken care of, got the step-daughter a place, and tomorrow I'm going meet with her school counselor. I'm back off to Africa on the 15th. Next time off my mom and step-dad and putting me up in one of their rental beach houses in Port St. Joe and letting me use the boat.

You can come drink beer and eat oysters on the beach with me next month.
