Hey SSROUGE,
you came in here looking for some couseling and you turn out to be a couselor
.
Guess thats the O-T for you. Hope it all works out for you though. We all have our ups and downs in the real world. Good thread though.

That's good. It's nice to have some quiet time to be able to send out résumés and shite.

I got married at 39.
Had a kid at 44.
And will die surrounded all the creditors I owe money to.
Don't tell yourself it's too late: it's never too late, especially the part about the creditors.

Thank you. It's tough. Never thought it would happen to me. It was a tragic boating accident. Here one morning and gone that afternoon.

damn that's tough, hope it gets better for you

Dying/living alone ain't so bad. At least in that situation there is peace and quiet. When single/alone you can do what you want, when you want.
Marriage is so overrated.

Downsize, live more simply which gives me less worries and more freedom.
I have found this is the key to happiness. My wife and I have made it a point to live more simply and downsize our life. It has definitly lifted some stress from our lives and allowed us to enjoy our young daughter more.

Yes, I know.
She's a stay-at-home mom that sends her kids to daycare/school.
That's the best kind.
Science/soft-money/funding = no bueno

ETA. I haven't had a meal with someone else since Christmas.
Have you met me? You buy my meal and I'll give you some motherfricking dinner convo you'll never forget and likely come back for more. Hell, spot me a 20 after dinner and I'll give a bj under the table.

That's terrible. I'm very sorry to hear that.
I can't pretend to even begin to imagine what you're going through.

Thanks. It feels like it was just yesterday...

My youngest has cystic fibrosis. Nothing else hits my radar anymore.

Money and career.
I was going through a flash drive the other day and found a budget I made back in '10. Over the last 4 years, the wife and I make less money now than we did then. I've worked for two companies that no longer exist. I was lucky enough to get out before they went under. Wife got let go while on maternity leave and was out of a job for a year because she couldn't find anything that paid enough to offset the cost of commuting/child care. Meanwhile, everything is more expensive. I feel like I'm in a huge rut.

And Mikes here hahaha
But damn, who woulda thunk it that the newest OT Balling OTer would start one of the more realistic and humbling threads the OT has ever seen. Well done SS

this has been a good thread to read through all day and post in.. while its sad/depressing to see everyones pains/struggles/worries... its also a good thing to realize im not the only one going through things. I realized it can always be worse, there is someone else always worse off than you are. I think i get consumed in my own life so much i think that im the only ine having a problem... when in reality, everyone is fighting some sort of battle. Good post today op, and good job by everyone putting in good information and not turning this into a joke thread
Posted on 8/7/14 at 3:12 pm to oleyeller
