What is a job that you thought would be easy?
Many of us were correct.

Did this last month in the guest bath. I marked the waterline inside the tank before draining then put a strait edge across to the new universal flusher. 1 adjustment later and it was good to go.
That's great, I'm glad your project was easy. Those universal gadgets are designed to fit "most" tanks. Guess what happens when your tank just so happens to not be in the "most" category?

Had to do this last night with the water running because the shutoff valve wasn't working properly
Couldn’t cut the water at the main either?

They aren't that bad once you know the tricks. Make sure your rough opening isn't too wide for the jam. If it is, make some ham extensions. Lay the door flat with the inside looking up. Staple the interior trim on. Silicone the slab to keep critters out. Stuff the door in the opening, get your top reveal straight and shoot the interior trim with trim nails. Put your exterior trim on last.

I was just trying to put a new door on the old hinges. The first one I bought, like an idiot, was a pre-hung door. Next, I butchered two more trying to get the hinges and latch to line up with the old ones. This was after sanding and staining the doors to match the other woodwork in the house, which took about 8-10 hours per door.
I should have just hired someone to come hang the stupid things. I probably put $600 and 40 hours of labor into that damn project.

I’ve been a sales director for the last 3 years. Much harder than I thought.

You would have been much better off just changing out the door and jam from the get go.
