20 in 7th grade
28 sophomore year, twice
29 junior year
I didn't take any prep courses, which was dumb. My problem was I kept getting lower each time on the science section. Not sure if it had to do with it being the last section or what.
For the first 28, I got a 28 in science. Second time, I got a 27. For my 29, I got a 31 in math, English, and reading and a 25 in science. :/
My profession is audit, so frick you life sciences.

Graduated with 100, 8 scored over 30 while I knew at least 20 people who took it tons of times to barely get tops. I took it once as a junior and made a 25

my prep course was through my high school. it was awesome just learning the little secrets about the test, like how sections are structured, how to approach difference sections, etc.

I love the sex threads and the ACT threads on here because not one person tells the truth and all these idiots try to talk themselves up.

You usually have to have a 32+ to get into top 20 schools i.e. Notre Dame, Duke, Ivies, MIT, Stanford.
That isn't probably high enough anymore. I know of quite a few kids with 34+ ACT's and 4.0's who were flat out rejected by Duke, Yale, Stanford, etc.
Students have to be from rich families or have done something amazing to get into the Harvards and Stanfords of the world.

But either way, from my point of view, I believe if you got at least a 25, that's not too bad. I got a 27, which got me in LSU, which was all I cared about.

A 34-36 helps your chances, but several people are accepted into these schools with 32-33 range scores. A 31 doesn't take you out of the race and a 35 definitely does not make you a shoe in
PS I am a HS senior w/ a 34 on the ACT and probably going to Notre Dame

My friend got a perfect score on her SAT (2400) and was denied from Stanford, and waitlisted at Harvard. It can be assumed her GPA was 4.0 or higher. She was Asian though. She's graduating from Harvard this year (obviously got off the waitlist)

I made a 31 too, but honestly, I'm pretty fricking retarded. So if I can make a 31, anyone can. I'd call a 34-36 good.

Test prep is huge. When I first took it, I struggled with the Science section. After some prep, I learned that the science section was really just reading comprehension. I went from a 19 in science to a 32. My reading went from a 29 to a 34 with extra timed practice. My math and English scores stayed relatively flat so I ended up with a 29, up from a 26.
Meh, case by case basis really
I did a test prep and took the damn test 3 times. All in all, I probably took the test 7 times and with super scores, I got a 28.
Some people are just not good standardized test takes, myself being one of them. I'm still not, I can't pass the fricking CPA

I kinda feel like taking it again so I can be all boastful in threads like this
I made a 28 which was more than good enough to get in to Alabama, the only school I applied to
