Kindly frick off to the poli-board with the other mouth breathers. Thanks.

Once again you come into another thread and take a shite. Do you ever have anything to add to the subject matter?

By the way, you worry a lot about up and down votes. Take a look at the number of down votes your post got.

But I believe something should be done to limit their power over us all.

Now I agree, I think that all wet markets with exotic "foods" and animals known to cause these things should be banned. And any country that turns a blind eye to such markets, should be treated as harboring active bio terrorists.

Perhaps it would put a dent in the poaching of endangered animals too.

Did you forget about SARS? Nothing will change. If you are smart you will start preparing for the next one in about 8-10 years

Our Government shouldn’t have to do anything if we, the People, just quit buying anything from China. Stop patronizing any business that has anything to do with China. Once the consumer quits buying stuff from there, that will get their attention. Until China implements standards comparable to the FDA here, we refuse to buy a damn thing from them.
Chinese people not at fault here- their govt is.
Our Govt most likely won’t (read can’t) do anything to them. But as long as Americans still have cash, we still have the last word.

As I type on my Chinese phone on my Chinese router, etc.

Would that mean we have to give up Asian women because I'm not on board with that.

Youd need wal mart and other large chains to get on board.

The world was already growing tired of China's bullshite. The China Flu makes it really hard to look the other way.

You're going to see a big push by many countries to move production out of China. We need some big companies to lead the way. (I'm lookin' at you, Apple)

TL/DR response.
I agree but I have no idea. Most stores close. Not sure about Amazon. We are in uncharted territory.

Long Response:
I agree, however, none of those stores, like Wal-Mart will get on board until the consumers’ buying habits change. In today’s economy, it’s hard to even find stores out there that compete with Wal-Mart.
Target, in my opinion, seems even more “globalist” and even “leftist” to me. I have zero proof of it other than none of their Christmas cards depicted Christ or mentioned anything religious, and I heard about the whole bathroom deal. Does that make Target wrong? No, they are entitled to their policy. Do I have anything against them? Other than my wife is somehow fascinated by the place and can stay in there literally for hours, no. I shop there because of its convenience from time to time (read when I am with the Mrs.).
Sam’s Club is owned by Wal-Mart
Costco - another big box warehouse store filled with cheap stuff most likely from China.
K-Marts don’t exist here anymore.
Mom and Pops are either out of business or soon to be due to Corona.
Dollar General - is FULL of cheap stuff presumably from China. Most of the clientele that DG caters to, in my opinion, seems to be less discerning consumers whose primary concern is price. Perhaps the “Joe Dirts” of the country will pause to read the back of a package, but how likely will that be. If so, DG has the most to lose because of their business model of literally putting a store every 13 miles or less.
Family Dollar / Dollar Tree - Their business models were MADE for selling cheap goods from China, in my opinion. The DT will have to go to $5 per item to stock only US manufactured goods, probably.
Fred’s is defunct
Sears is defunct
Roses Express - is just opening up stores using the Fred’s stores geographic footprint. Their stores are lacking in Fred’s quality (which is hard to believe) in some areas yet excel or beat Fred’s in others. While their aggressive business model was to expand into the vacuum left by the Fred’s stores, they won’t, in my opinion, make it more so due to the quarantine. But even if they did, they are still following FD/DT’s model. I was optimistic on them 3 months ago, but I think unless they are flush with cash, they will be gone as quickly as they are springing up. They cannot survive without imports from China.
Walgreens/CVS - will survive and likely gobble up some of that DG/FD/DT clientele as well as expanding their inventory. I see them becoming more like a Fred’s to almost K-Mart like within 10 years.
Amazon - that’s the kicker. 6 months, Amazon was going to literally own everything. As it stands now, the “thing” that made Amazon so lucrative and flashy was its infrastructure. News now of employees refuse to work due to COVID-19, is like throwing a wrench into a perfectly well-oiled machine. Now that the chain has come off the proverbial sprocket of success, Amazon “could” be in trouble forcing consumers to try to go to actual locations looking for items. The question remains whether they survive, OR consumer buying habits change into refusing to buy items from China? If so it could force AMZN to alter their course. They are the big unknown to this puzzle, in my opinion.
All Supermarkets survive, I think.
Whole Foods makes it on their own snobbery alone. In fact, if they had enough capital, they could “Reverse Wal-Mart it” and become SuperCenters selling clothes, electronics, home goods, sporting goods, automotive, etc., but their apparent “snobbery” in my opinion, will have to take a back seat to progress.

I’m most concerned with stores like Macy’s, Dillard’s, Belk, JC Penney, Kohl’s. They already had the “pneumonia”(that might be a poor choice of words) at Christmas and this quarantine might put them in the commercial graveyard (again probably not a good choice of words). As much as I hate those stores, I enjoy actually trying on a shirt or pair of pants, etc., I like walking around and looking at stuff especially during the holidays. But their models will have to change. Yes they can sell what the consumer wants, but can the consumers afford it?

I potentially see this whole deal as a commercial reset back to the beginning of the Industrial Age. I see new prospects of a changing economy, a changing buying experience, and a change of social behavior looming out there. In contrast, though, I think borrowing from the late Kenney Rogers, boredom will overcome us and will begin to seek.
