I'm growing a beard out of necessity. I have a horrible in-grown hair problem when I shave and look like a 15 year old with acne.

I've never understood why people with patchy beards have beards.
i'm not saying you have to be a some kind lumberjack/grizzly Adams type, but I can't help but laugh at a lot of the guys in cities like Austin & NOLA having full beards.

You said you had beard but not for fashion reasons. By fashion statement I just meant having one because you like the way it looks not like runway model fashion.
