About 100% of any respect you ever had from any non-trashy person.

These college athletes you see tatted up have spent more on tattoos than they've ever officially earned in their lives.
key word "officially"

I've seen some sleeves that cost upward of $5K, but they're artist quality stuff. My Marine cousin, on the other hand, paid for his with two or three cases of Bud Light, and I'm pretty sure the artist consumed his payment before laying the ink.

A full sleeve could cost them near $1000 easy.
My sister says her sleeve was $5,800 not including travel expenses. She flew to Croatia twice to get tattooed.

Is everyone on this board 90 fricking years old? Live your life a little! A REASONABLY placed tattoo wouldn't cost you a great career or respect from anyone worth having respect from in the first place... Go anywhere not named Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama, and see how many successful people have tattoos.

If it's a large piece it's between $100-$150 an hour. A small tattoo usually has a minimum of $50. Shitty ghetto tattoo artists are cheap. It shows in the work. Good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good.

Approximately 68% of all your dignity. You work the number out.

Couple hundred bucks plus the interest to carry that on your Discover card for 2 years

Why would anyone want an "average" tattoo?
Each of mine is fairly large, and my artsist charges $100/hr. One that covers the inside of my forearm took around 51/2 hours. I also tip around $200 for my large pieces. That's for something like this...
I wouldn't go to an artist that isn't charging at least $100/hr. My artist was still hungry and establishing his reputation, and he is very quick. I paid him based on what I thought he should have charged me.
