Well that's easy from a Charlestonian:

- Check out Park Place...one destination is Holy City Brewery

- and then after go up towards Summerville to this honky tonk:

Screw downtown for us locals....

They have an awesome BBQ joint in Sullivan island. Get the wings with Alabama white sauce.

Hometeam. Really fun vibe and a great place after hitting the beach at IOP or Sullivans. Though we really like the downtown location because of its big outdoor space. Gamechanger ftw.

But you didn’t know the neighborhood was called Park Circle?

ETA: Someone said Kiawah...it's a beautiful drive and that island is very exclusive, but if you only have a weekend it's not worth it. It'll take you 45 minutes to drive there, there's nothing all that fun or unique about it that you can't get on Sullivan's, Folly, or IOP. A group of 37 year old baws would get all the way out there and go "now what?"

OP is getting to experience some of that World Famous Charleston Flooding(TM).

I'm getting all sorts of phone and TV alerts for flash flooding. Apparently we set a daily rainfall record at the airport

Rutledge is always good for some flood porn.

If you want to party like you are still in college: Shem Creek

Depends on which side of the Creek. The west side, it's slightly lower key, and where they have the boardwalk along the creek that takes you damn near out to the harbor, very pretty. The east side of the creek are the establishments where people are doing jager bombs and blasting rap music from their boats. Don't get me wrong, people are intoxicated on the west bank too, but it's lower key. Also, Vickery's validates parking.

In my experience most of the time one spends in Charleston is spent in traffic with a bunch of damned Yankees who only had enough retirement money to get as far south as South Carolina and not all the way to south Florida. If I were looking for something enjoyable to do in Charleston I would drive to Beaufort.....but it has also been discovered by yankees so it won't be nice long....

I like Charleston. Great town. But it has the most overrated food reputation in America. Somebody needs to say it.

We lived close to the Citadel in the mid 90s and if it came a heavy dew that area would have a foot of water in the streets for a week....which wouldn't have been a problem if it didn't take 3 hours to drive a half a mile due to the traffic.

Got smoked by the rain this weekend, but still had a great time out here.

Still got out and about and you baws were not lying regarding the arse walking around town.

It was like a 7:1 ratio and it seemed a higher than average hot percentage compared to normal. Genuinely notable to.

Had some baws and bawette’s here on the board come up and say hello Thursday at the Raw Bar as I was wearing the TD shirt

Seemed like great folks!

Hope yall had a good time! My buddies and I were laughing all weekend how some folks are just like, ‘oh that must be mccaigbro69!’

I’ve never seen it stick around longer than a day or two. Even with tropical storms or hurricane remnants. And I also live right by the citadel.
