What can JBE do to a business?
Well fricked that up and posted early.
What can be done to a business that opens against orders? Did searching but couldn’t find anything. May be googling the wrong things.
Pull occupation license
Fire Marshall can shut down
State Police can pull video poker machines
ABC Board can pull liquor license
Health Dept can shut them down

Well, nothing was done to the hair salon owner. Precedent set!!!!
Mostly because someone took up her cause, started a gofundme and got her a lawyer. Will everyone have the same success? Highly unlikely imho.

It’s a real question. We own a small service business that still can’t reopen technically. Other than an occupational license from the city we have no license to pull. The wife posed the question of what they can really do. Figured I’d ask tigerdtoppings since news organizations just vaguely say you can’t open. And it seems like people struggle with interpreting guidance vs rules. I certainly do.

If you have a physical location they can put your occupancy license which means power gets disconnected

He can issue fines. Which the owner can claim as unconstitutional. But that’s all above my pay grade.

Fines, pull their license, shut them down.
Well, he can have various state agencies do that for him.

I’m moving out of Louisiana at some point in the future but it definitely won’t be back to Texas.
The other T state has treated us well so far.

Yeah, we have a hefty but doable in a day drive to any salt water. Same thing to go back to LA.
