We’re starting NTI on the 6th. We have a lot of kids taking AP courses so several of the teachers had already been meeting with their students via Zoom and using College Board resources to try to keep the kids up to speed since they’re not delaying the AP tests. It’ll be more “official” starting the 6th, requiring all teachers to participate and make themselves available for student/parent contact during “school hours”.

The district is going to provide Chromebooks to low income families.

School system is still putting a plan together. The challenge is they can't set up e-learning because some families don't have laptops/computers/chromebooks to access any lessons set up. A couple of my kids' teachers have reached out and sent some stuff to them, and I've been doing 2 1-hour blocks a day with no electronics unless it's educational. It's been a challenge balancing my work and making sure they're not spending all day on Tik Tok.

All of the students at my kid's school are issued an iPad the beginning of the year. The already used Teams and a few other online learning tools before they went remote.

Yeah, as already have some parents of ECE students in our district threatening to sue if they’re not “fully accommodated”. The DoE is putting together a waiver of fulfilling those accommodations in cases like this.

My daughter is at BRMHS and they have implemented a highly regimented curriculum that includes absolutely nothing. Read this, read that, do your best yada yada yada. Summer vacation started basically. It’s exactly what you would expect from Government schools - bureaucratic paralysis in the name of “ equality “ or “ sameness “. Fortunately she’s a motivated smart cookie, so she’ll be fine.

EDIT-I am told that something new occurred today where they will actually have new AP courses online and her classes will have a weekly online gathering/class.
