My audit professor has a good story about one of his first audits out of college.
He audited a non profit that had an old woman as a bookkeeper. Everything balanced. Everything was right on the mark. But he kept running into this “SOB” account. When he was close to finished with the audit, he went to the woman and asked “What is this SOB account?”
Woman replies… “well son.. that’s the Something’s Out of Balance entry”.
He had to redo the entire audit.

The income tax filing deadline is a nothing date for many people.
If you have withholdings that covers your tax due… you can file anytime you get good and ready within the year. You could probably file a couple years late and the IRS would never so much as send a letter since they are so backed up.

I’m currently laying in my bed on my drillship, Above 6000 foot of water. We are completing the third of the first of four completion wells in the world. Only two of these type of drillship in the world. The Technology it takes to recover 20 to 30,000,000 year old hydrocarbons is crazy these days
