In India, they pierce the girl ears early. They have a ceremony for it and it is celebrated. It is part of a custom

Now had I married someone else more similar to me and had a family I probably wouldn’t have allowed it.
But I also have to take into consideration some cultural practices.
I guess having a quinceanera for my daughter is trashy too.

You people are insane. The example about the circumcision is spot on. I challenge you to point out a meaningful contrast. Do it now, when it won't cause her any anxiety. It's pierced ears for pete's sake. It's trivial. Don't do it at some shithole in the mall though. Get her pediatrician or ENT to do it.
