You do realize that being subject to the liberties offered by the [b]US Constitution makes you also subject to the laws of the Government?

Stopped slavery from ever happening in the US.
We'd have a clean, highly functioning prestine country that would function like a rich European nation.

1-made sure Rich Rodriguez wife liked Tuscaloosa.
2-made Les Miles fire Cameron and hire great OC (and give him full control)
3-stopped John Wilkes Booth, therefore allowing Lincoln to continue his deportation/recolonization of former slaves
4-moved the iceberg that sunk the Titanic, thereby preventing me from ever having to watch that boring movie with my lovely wife
5-convince God that mosquitoes and love bugs were not among his best ideas

The christian regions under ottoman empire were constantly egged to independence and supported by brits (greece) and russians (yugoslav region).
Princip does not happen absent muslims vs christians. Muslims do not exist if muhammed not sprung from jail, my item #2.

I guess just knowledge transfer. We have burned libraries, etc

That was my first thought. Civilization would be radically different if we had never lost those documents.

Any of these events changing would likely result in you never existing.

Kill Marx
Stop slave trade to the Americas
Forced Clinton at gunpoint to 'ok' the strikes to kill Bin Laden
Given the Knights Templar all modern arms with a many thousands of rounds to completely eradicate Islam and kick their asses out of Jerusalem for good.
Then I would go back and figure out how to make another time machine and make it to go to five more.
My next five would all be pretty much all at the same time with exceptions to like one or two.
Kill Mao Zedong
Kill Stalin
Kill Lenin
Kill Hitler
Stop the US from ever getting involved in the ME in any capacity.

Could be an unmitigated disaster for humanity. There was a power vacuum in Germany following WWI and someone was going to fill it. As bad as Hitler was, there was one good thing about him. That thing is that he was badshit crazy and totally sucked as a military strategist
2 comments here:
1) Think about if that power vacuum had been filled by a Communist takeover, which is entirely plausible. Imagine a European power state like Germany being fully Communist and allying with the USSR. This scenario is absolutely horrifying.
2) I don't think it was so much that Hitler was a horrible strategist as he was a rash decision maker and when things started going poorly this characteristic was amplified tenfold. Early on he allowed his generals to operate freely and with initiative. It really wasn't until the Soviet campaign started going south that his distrust in his generals led to his constant meddling and shuffling of commanders. But Germany's geopolitical situation at this point was already pretty much fricked, as a result of Hitler's brazen decisions to fight the British Empire, the USSR, and the United States with the most worthless group of allies imaginable (minus the Finn's).
His major geopolitical decisions were what ultimately doomed Germany, not meddling in tactical matters. He also had to mediate lots of disagreement within the German General staff and field commanders.

You don't want women to vote?
One poster wants to stop the 17th amendment allowing governors to appoint senators to fill a vacancy and another doesn't want women to vote.
Of all the ammendments to prevent, y'all chose those?

That would be the death knell of American democratic government. Also, it's unlikely that changing the events of only one day could have accomplished this. Remarkably short-sighted that you would waste one of your five chances to change the world on a procedural point just because you are pissed that your president can't get his bills passed by the Senate.
quote:
Kill Marx in his crib
That wouldn't accomplish much, if anything. What he helped bring about was inevitable with or without his involvement.
quote:
Change the word "people" to "citizens" in the US Constitution
Seriously? You have five things in all of human history you can change and you would use one of them just to frick with immigrants after already using one to change the method of selecting U.S. Senators? Ridiculous.
quote:
Prevent importation of slaves into the North American colonies
Not something you could have done by changing the events of only one day, but would be a good one if it were.
quote:
Kill Hitler in his crib
The only reasonable one on your list that fits the criteria (i.e. changing the events of one day).
I sincerely hope that if some magical all-powerful being ever does decide to give someone five chances to change the world, it won't waste them on you.
