I was a Lake Vista Levee Board junior cadet Ensign first class, 1987-89. Some of the best days of my life.

'Matterhorn' is my metaphor of the time I spent with the LVLB- we built it, we abandoned it, we assaulted it, we lost, and then we abandoned it again.

Would I do it again? In a heartbeat.

Would I encourage my kids to join? No way.

Our school let the special needs kids do the hall monitoring duties. We gave the proper respect.

I'm pretty sure we did. School rules said no one was allowed to take food out of the lunchroom, from what I remember.
