She’s pretty moderate especially for DC. The city council is behind much of what people put on her. DC mayor is really just a Chief Administrative Officer. The fed has ultimate say on city matters and the council is able to override much of what the mayor can do and often does.

It is a bandaid.
If you are not for the continued Federalization of local and city police forces, then enjoy the "peace" while it lasts. The voting demographics in these places won't change, and they will never demand leaders fix the crime issues.
