So let's get this straight. I posted the exact type of study you wanted, and you've ignored it. We also can't make use of very solid inferential reasoning based on disease serotypes during outbreaks. We also can't reference patterns of cellular injury, which is entirely evidence-based, because of some illusory reason. I personally think that there isn't a standard of evidence you would adhere to, because you are doing this in bad-faith. You want to try to muddy the waters, try to convert people in your way of thinking because you are functionally a partisan, and there has been some deep cellular injury to your soul that you can't rectify by acknowledging the dishonesty of your approach to the evidence. It's like you've invented a brand-new category of personality disorder.

The experiment seems to prove flu is not caused by bacteria. That is it. It does not prove it is caused by a virus they couldn't detect, that is a non sequitur
I need you to think very carefully here as to why they could not detect the virus in 1918. Also, at the minimum, this undermines your notion that humans cannot transmit disease to other humans. You are trying to slyly move the goalposts here, which is again massively dishonest.

They had no way of detecting a virus. It was a theory, and still is.
Here is what happened
1) people with filtered sputum, bacteria removed, got sick!!!
2) people with direct bacteria did not
3) people who had it before did not
So if you believe flu is caused by virus, instead of bacteria I suppose that confirms it. That's what it leads it to believe. But there is no proof of that theory.
If you believe bacteria is good and doesn't cause disease, but rather cleans it up, and we get sick from diseased tissue that doesn't have bacteria that confirms that view as well.
Whatever your preconceived bias is, it fits.
Thank you for confirming terrain theory.

I think it's less personality disorder and more evangelism - he's trying to win converts to a worldview whose dogma is "scientific consensus is a borne of a conspiracy constructed to deceive you", but it's a bit like scientology where they start with the more palatable propositions ("these doctors can't prove proposition X) and only after someone accepts the skeptical premises and builds trust do they advance to dogma.

Actually it's you're very misled and dishonest and arrogant and protectionist and I am telling the truth. Let's put that theory to the test.

Flat earth and germ theory denial.
I don't have time for your seduction. Tell me your dogma! And quick-like before dinner!

Good God. It’s NOT a vaccine! The meaning of the word was literally changed to fit the narrative. The polio vaccine is a vaccine.

I'm not dogmatic. I'm open. I can conceive paradigms you are trained not to. I already know about yours, it's not special. Believing in the accepted theories is not smart. You're terrified of considering mine even though you can't defend yours.

Let's be honest here. This is what you've been specifically denying, that any pathogen could be transmitted person-to-person. Unbelievable dishonesty here. This proves the exact opposite.

What in the living frick is this? God each time you say something, it gets even more wild. And also, do you know why we know this isn't the case? Because here, the evidence is actually overwhelming.
Again, for once answer a direct question. Why could we not suggest that it was an influenza virus in 1918? How is that relevant to our discussion? Think this through.

NO! That is why I need to accept your dogma. You're still seducing.
Give me the dogma or good day, sirrah!

That could be it too. Regardless, someone has to fight this nonsense. I don't mind and in this case this has produced its own rewards, as he's absolutely produced some of the most retarded reasoning I've ever seen in a human. It's been amazing.

I'm trying to point out to you how it's an exercise in confirmation bias.
Develop theory
Consider theory as ONLY ALLOWABLE explanation
It confirms theory!
For God's sake, your experiment showed people with bacteria NOT getting sick! You proved my point!
So you invent another theory (viruses) to explain that and it's the only allowable explanation.
You should be honest and able to see that.

You really don't though. You keep saying things and when I point out how idiotic those things are within the context of the whole body, you ignore it. I'm 100% you couldn't reason through any case.

It really dovetails with techniques in pilling guides. "You can trust I'm open-minded because I believe heterodox opinion x" is one of the mainstays.

You can't even be intellectually honest. You are too busy trying to prove I'm an idiot to actually face the many legitimate flaws I am pointing out to you. I really want you to consider these things. I keep asking you to

Again, I'm begging you to think, is that what happened with the discovery of influenza? Because in 1918, the disease wasn't limited to being either a bacteria or a virus. They just didn't know. Again, do you understand how that determination was made? I'm asking you to actually stop for a second and think things through.
Secondly, you were referencing some cursed theory about disease states and how bacteria cures those states. Do you know how we know that is not true? We have millions and millions of data points here, all evidence-based.

Brah, if you reference the immune system and then don't understand why that reference undermines your whole point about germ theory, in its entirety, you really need to slow down and think things through.

Yeah it does. When I'm an attending, I think I'll give residents and students cash or something when they come up with nice little rebuttals that other people can use when see this thing in person. Like the opposite of the system our ICU has, where each person rotating through there has 100 dollars at the beginning, and then loses 1 dollar each time a wrong or pointless test is ordered. I think a cumulative model rather than subtractive could be useful in this instance.
