It just so happens we have no idea what kind of dogs killed that lady. The only thing we know is the neighbor said they saw the owners walking two AK-47's.

I don't think they are any more dangerous than any other dog but I'm also not afraid of dogs so I'm not particularly intimidated by any of them. I'm also able to sleep with the lights off and go the the Jubilee on corporate and college at night without being scared so perhaps we differ a great deal.
Being married to a vet I know that police and reporters aren't the best judge of breed. I also know that animal control does not necessarily release the specific breed because in more cases it's impossible to know for sure.

They most certainly ARE more dangerous than other breeds---look up the statistics. There may be dogs that bite more frequently, but they are responsible for the most deaths and serious injury.

Maybe, I don't know. I do know that of the vets my wife is friends with, all but one own what most would consider a pit bull.
It's just silly to me that people have such zeal for banning a breed of dog.
So you ban pits, then what? Where does it end? What is an acceptable number of dog related deaths?
