the honest answer (not the "I'm The Funnie Five and I must disparage any wrestling that isn't WWE" answer) is that everything he did the moment he won the Universal Championship the last time killed all his positive momentum

It honestly started with over-exposure... a la Roman Reigns or John Cena

the shitty Rollins/Lynch vs. Corbin/Lacey series

the Hell in a Cell match ending with The Fiend

but the biggest thing that's done it is his social media (read: Twitter) antics... heck... even CM Punk called him out on it on WWE Backstage on Tuesday

early in the summer he got into a Twitter beef with Will Ospreay (NJPW... not AEW) about who the best wrestler in the world was... and Rollins best argument was "look at my bank account"

that led to the whole "Seth Rollins is not cool" sign fiasco at 1 of the recent shows... which is where the "Seth is not cool" chant arose from

A bit late but I finally got to this point of the AEW/thread to see this. If you have the VICE channel try to track down the episode about Evolve. It was done before they were absorbed by Vince. Darby was one of the group who it featured and his success in AEW is not a surprise. If his career was started a bit later he'd likely be in NXT.

Also not related but did anyone else catch the end of NXT where it looks like Finn may have something wrong with his wrist? In hindsight I think putting him in that spot was a horrible decision.

It's sad when you look at the two WWE belts now compared to what they were 30 years ago. There's no reason for them not to use the US belt on Raw as its main belt since Brock only wrestles on PPVs against a small rotation of wrestlers. Instead it's on AJ who has been locked into The OC so he rarely defends the title. I think the last time they were on the right people who used them as they had been traditionally used was Miz & Finn... who both had great matches with Seth. FWIW I think Seth could be a great US champ with his wrestling style and workhorse attitude. (I admit I'm a bit biased as I know he's a really awesome guy IP...I've interacted with him at ringside a few years ago and at Soldier Field before this year's league opener.)
