Why not? It's called an emergency fund and you use it for when these exact types of things happen. Get it replaced and start saving an emergency fund equivalent to 3-6 months salary (gross salary).

Get a few quotes and try to get financing through the A/C company. After everything is paid off, you need to start an emergency fund for situations like this.

Replaced mine recently. A/C company had 0% financing for several years. Check with company doing work.
