I was there about a month ago and never felt unsafe, even on the dreaded subway.
There was one time a guy seemed to be following my kid too close when we were walking and wouldn’t pass him. I told my kid “this is where we turn” and turned on a side street. The guy kept walking and we returned to the route. No biggie.
There were less homeless than I remember but the constant smell of burning marijuana was trashy.
Looking forward to going back.

With a name like Bobabooey, I would assume you were more than comfortable in New York.
I attended the victory parade last year in Oklahoma City and I can’t imagine there being two completely opposite experiences for a championship parade in the entire world.
Hopefully the NYC parade will be just as memorable and fun for the people there as it was for us in OKC.

I lived there for almost a decade. I miss it terribly sometimes, but this bullshite would have gotten on my nerves.
I will always say it was the best / worst / easiest / hardest place I ever lived.
But if you are a single man, decent / good looking, and a good job, it is amazing. Very fond memories.

Evidently Joe isn’t a communist.
As for the behavior on display, most big cities act this way. Sadly, this type of behavior is the norm.
