I seem to remember there was a theory that the body was hit by the wheel of a tanker docking at low tide at the Chevron Refinery. The child's body and the severed torso of Laci were found a couple of hundred feet apart on either the same day or a day apart near the Chevron dock.

Right which makes zero sense for him to make that his alibi. I think he’s an absolute sociopathic womanizer but there’s zero evidence he did it. The innocence Project found 2 reliable witnesses that the police never followed through with that saw Laci after he left to go fishing which blows up their whole timeline

So the police arrest in San Diego and drive him back to Modesto.
They stop at in and out and cop was all judgy bc he knew immediately what he wanted.
