Because as soon as the ad came out, you had women coming out and bitching about how that ad set women back in sports, and how much it hurts women; while they were also justifying what Clancey did and trying to make every excuse in the book. Hell, some women actually kept referring to Clancey as a good mom and defending her because she couldn't' control herself due to her hormones.
In other words, the argument is one is using sex appeal to reach a target market; while the other is saying women should not be held accountable for any negative actions because of biology.
