and he didnt go to FSU? Finally just a good story of a person that has money giving to those in need without any strings attached.

Improper benefits. Ineligible. All awards and accomplishments redacted.

This doesnt make any sense, but neither does the NCAA's logic

eta: What is the story behind this btw?

No outrage. I think Rifle had good intentions.

Dunn's story is awesome in its tragedy to triumph arc. And he has given away hundreds of houses as part of his charity. Just an interesting coincidence that Watson's family got one.

Dunn's mom was the first on-duty killing of an officer that I have a memory of in BR, and seeing him grow to what he is is pretty awesome.

Dunn gives away a house every year, or at least used to, in Baton Rouge, Atlanta, and Tampa, maybe Talahassee. He's just a good dude.

He's one of the examples often cited when talking about pro athlete charitable foundations that actually give back. Instead of being like most of them where it's just a way to funnel money to family members.

And one hell of a talent evaluator. Watson was only 11 in that picture.

Dunn backs up his talk about improving the lives of those in poverty. Kudos to him. He doesn't take a knee, or try and divide people, he gives them a home.

Why would you be outraged? Dunn is a good guy and helps people. It's cool to see one of those kids 10 years later. I didn't even post it on MSB because it's not a sports story. It's a circle of life story. No cynicism.

In this particular case I believe he worked with Habitat for Humanity to furnish the home after it was built, but he's undoubtedly a good dude.

yep. Deshauns Mom worked hundreds of hours on other peoples homes before she was entitled to one of her own.

quote:

Watson’s mother, Deann, raised four kids on her own, the early years spent huddled in a cramped apartment in Gainesville, Ga. One day, Deshaun brought home a note from Habitat for Humanity, laying out a path to home ownership. She jumped at the chance, and put in some 300 hours helping build new houses before they could move in. When that day finally arrived — Nov. 21, 2006 — Dunn was there with a special surprise. Through his charitable foundation, the ex-running back had fully furnished the four-bedroom, two-bath home, right down to stocking the refrigerator.

He still continues to do it, and it's way more than 1 a year. I saw that he just recently gave away his 150th house.

In particular, he gives houses to single parent families.
