In all seriousness, a lot of the USMC equipment is old as frick and falling apart. Marine Corps Air Wing is having to cannibalize itself just to keep planes/helicopters in the air. Same with the Army.

I know that the Air Force and Navy will always get the big bucks, but there’s a pretty serious problem going on with our ground combat elements.

Don’t underestimate the lesser adversaries of the US.

Some Marine Col. Wargamed as opfor Iran or something of the like and sent a carrier strikegroup down to the bottom of the sea. Used low tech and overwhelmed the systems in place. Of course the Navy declared shenanigans and invalidated the kills.

We are not invincible.

Yeah, motorcycle couriers that we’re 100% stealthy, that arrived at their destination instantly.

Small motor boats that carried massive anti ship missiles.

A carrier strike group sitting just barely off the coast line with severe limitations in place for ROE due to “commercial shipping lanes” interfering.

The whole simulation was crap. Van Riper will never admit that it was crap but it was. They re-floated the carrier and changed the parameters to make it more realistic and got actual results from Millennium Challenge 2000 (iirc?) that weren’t a complete fairytale.

Did the wargamers allow for the newly gay members of the military to design some new fabulous uniforms and camo schemes?
