Well i havent inspected it yet but the ole lady says the existing vent is just venting into the attic.
i.e. there aint no exhisting duct to tie in to.

You should be good. It will be on the same switch so you will not have independent control of the light and fan. You can either turn them both on or both off. Also, vent it through the roof and not the soffit.

Which im ok with. We never even use that light now so the light and exhaust being on independent switches is not the biggest need.

The fart fan more than likely has a vent, I'm hoping the ductwork is just disconnected.

That's why I'm hoping it's a matter of it being disconnected, rather than no roof vent at all.

Dude, you can go through the soffit with no problem. You aren't venting a fricking dryer
