I'm sure many know this, but some may not.

Call the Dish number and try to cancel your service for "financial reasons". They'll offer you great deals to keep you as a customer. Cut my TV bill from 65 bucks to 30 bucks a month, guaranteed for a year and can extend it if I call them when the year is up.

Just passing this along

Any tips for those of us who aren't compulsive liars?

Are you saying I'm lying that Dish will do this? Or that you have to be a liar to get them to?

If you call and select the option to cancel service when the customer support guy answers he will almost immediately offer to lower the payment a bit. If you want a big discount then say you're trying to save money on bills and they'll go lower.

You think this same tactic works with the Bugatti dealership?

I have since cut mine off, but I did that a while back and they gave me free service for three months.

Dish is much better service/price than Directv and far better than local cable

I planned to let my Sirius subscription expire since my commute to work is much shorter at the job I’m at now. I get an email at the end of each month saying that my service has been extended another month free of charge. It’s been 3 or 4 months now
